IT Network Technician – Fredericksburg, VA

Businets is looking for an experienced Network Technician to join our growing technical team. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our customers’ voice and data networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network support.
The position’s responsibilities include supporting our customers’ networks and day-to-day assistance with network management. You will work closely with customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
You will leverage your experience supporting large and small-scale, enterprise-class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Technician, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition, to providing management services and support of our customer’s infrastructure you would establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.


  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred; or Industry Certifications in a relevant IT field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
  • Other relevant Industry certifications (CompTIA Network+ / Microsoft MTA, MCSA), or the ability and willingness to complete them
  • 3+ years in B2B IT environment
  • 3 + years’ experience with IP networking, including cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment (voltmeter, power meter, and OTDR etc.)
  • 3 + years’ experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • 3 + years’ experience preferred with on-premises and hosted VoIP phone systems (Zultys, GrandStream, NUSO)
  • 3 + years’ experience preferred with Telecom systems and providers
  • 3 + years’ experience with firewall products Fortinet and Cisco preferred


  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing wired and wireless network systems
  • Handle repairs and exchanges of defective network devices
  • Collaborate on the improvement of network design and connectivity
  • Perform routine network maintenance
  • Maintain inventory of network devices
  • Provide intermediate-level service desk and technical support to users.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction


  • 3 + Years of previous experience in IT or other related fields
  • Experience with Ethernet and IP networking
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking, hardware, and software
  • Experience with Windows Servers and Active Directory-based business networks
  • Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments
  • Thorough knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Compensation and Benefits:

Sales Representative

Businets Inc, one of the oldest Business to Business Information Technology hardware & support
providers in Fredericksburg. We are seeking a Salesperson to expand our sales team. This is an
excellent opportunity for a self-starter with a willingness to learn and a passion for the PC & Network
business to grow within the position.

Duties include:

  • Answering sales related questions from customers via email, phone, and chat
  • Inputting phone orders and service tickets into our Autotask PSA system
  • Targeting areas of sales growth within the industry including corporate, small business, education, and government accounts
  • Prospecting and pursuing new sales leads
  • Following up with current customers
  • Maintain a high level of sales activity including cold calling/prospecting and deal identification, quoting, and closure
  • Cultivating and closing leads secured by the outside sales team
  • Maintain and establish a daily, weekly, monthly call plan that will capture all prospective customers within the assigned territory
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, customers, and business partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • US Citizenship and Valid Virginia Driver License
  • Candidate must have excellent organizational, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone demeanor is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with willingness to seek out new prospects and potential business
  • Working knowledge of network hardware, components, and infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including cloud-based Office 365
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • 2-5 years sales experience – phone sales experience preferred
  • Must work well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware and components
  • Advanced knowledge of network hardware, servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points
  • is another huge plus
  • Experience with Autotask PSA or similar CRM
  • Experience with securing SLED & corporate contracts

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year

Sales: 3-5 year (Preferred)

Work Location:

Office at 3701 Latimers Knoll Court, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22408 and occasional travel to existing
and potentially new customers within a 45-mile radius

Typical start/end time:
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM M-F
