System Administration Based on Your Business Needs

If you decide upon a Businets managed IT service agreement.  You will benefit from special rates for both workstation maintenance and server administration and engineering services.  These rates will be lower than our on-demand rates, and (with the exception of the helpdesk option) will apply to remote services as well.  We offer services for such tasks as break/fix occurrences, initial system deployment, and major OS upgrades, server and application deployment, procurement, and project management.

During the initial implementation of our remote management services, our engineers will discuss all steps of the implementation with you prior to beginning. They will then install the software necessary for remote administration, performing any reconfiguration required to bring all administered systems to a known state for easier monitoring and management. Configuration changes are documented and provided to you.

Monthly billed automated server monitoring services would include:

  • Hardware faults – Our monitoring agent can live on most server platforms. we can set up the server agent to notify us if there is a failure in a redundant system; such as a drive in a raid array or failed redundant power supply. In the event of a total failure of the server, The server will show as DOWN on our control panel. We can also accomplish some of this by turning on Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
  • System halts – if there is an unexplained shutdown and the system successfully recovers itself, we are notified. We are also notified if our management console cannot connect to your server for a given period of time.
  • Backup status – any red-flagged (failed) backup will be automatically reported to us.
  • As needed – Custom event log flagging – we can set the system to look for specific events and notify us
  • Disk space usage – we are notified if a given threshold is reached.
  • Resource usage – we are notified based on threshold.
  • Virus alerts – We are notified of anything the system cannot remedy by itself.
  • Optional – Application based flagging – we can be notified if an individual application returns red flag errors.
  • Service order submission by phone or online via email or website(pending)
  • Customer’s dedicated computer staff can be given limited access to our control panel. Note- this is on a case by case basis and at our discression.

Monthly billed automated workstation monitoring services would include:

  • System Halts – if there is an unexplained shutdown we are notified. We are also notified if our management console cannot connect to your server for a given period of time.
  • As needed – Custom event log flagging – we can set the system to look for specific events and notify us. This is limited, but the system can be set to look for intermittent problems such as a corrupted file table on your hard disk based on custom flagging. This has no function in the event of a total failure.
  • Disk space usage – we are notified if a given threshold is reached
  • Resource usage – we are notified based on threshold.
  • Virus alerts – We are notified of anything the system cannot remedy by itself.

Monthly billed remote helpdesk services would include all previously listed services plus:

  • Remote investigation of any flagged issues. Triage as needed.
  • Attempted remote remediation of any issue which causes a computer not to function in accordance with the established baseline. On-site escalation is solely our discression
  • Remote solutions/answers to questions (within reason – as this is subject to abuse – we determine what is abuse)

Monthly billed remote helpdesk + onsite remediation services would include all previous services plus:

  • Onsite escalation included (at our discretion)
  • Onsite remediation of any issue which causes a computer not to function in accordance with the established baseline. On-site escalation is solely our discression.
